Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education to Support Innosocium National Social Projects Contest

The Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education will support the Innosocium National Social Projects Contest, which is being implemented on the Roscongress Foundation’s social platform.

The main objective of the contest is to draw young people’s attention to pressing socially significant issues, search for new communication ideas to solve social problems, identify and motivate talented students, develop their skills in creating and implementing social communication projects, and disseminate the effective experience of social project planning in the student environment. The contest’s panel and expert council include cultural figures, rectors and department chairs from leading Russian universities, representatives of the government, business, and creative agencies, experts on education, and public figures.

«We decided to support the project of the Roscongress Foundation’s social platform, the Innosocium National Social Projects Contest, in order to replicate best practices in education. It is important to note that the contest aims to draw attention to pressing socially significant issues, such as building an inclusive society and social responsibility as well as preserving architectural and cultural values. The contest participants not only include students from Moscow universities, but also young people from 25 regions of Russia. I am certain that there should be more projects of this kind since they not only identify talented students, but also establish applied skills for independent project work», Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Mikhail Kotyukov said.

«The Innosocium National Social Projects Contest was launched just recently, in September 2018, on the core of the Roscongress Foundation’s social platform. Russian students were invited to develop their social project in one of the following categories: ‘Inclusive Society’, ‘Territorial Development’, and ‘Active Longevity’. The support our contest has received from the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education is not only a high assessment of the first results of the contest, but also an excellent opportunity for its further development and scaling», Roscongress Foundation Deputy CEO, Director for Socio-Economic Agenda Elena Marinina said.

To support the contest, the social platform of the Roscongress Foundation was used to conduct a series of master classes at leading universities in Moscow with presentations by social communications specialists. On 18 December 2018, the final event was held at the Civic Chamber of Russia with more than 300 students from Moscow State Institute of International Relations, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Russian State Social University, National Research University Higher School of Economics, the New Economic School, and Moscow State University of Psychology and Education as well as industry experts.

An awards ceremony was held for the winners of the Innosocium National Social Projects Contest at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi on 14 February. The awards ceremony was attended by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Mikhail Kotyukov, Roscongress Foundation Chairman of the Board and CEO Alexander Stuglev, and Roscongress Foundation Deputy CEO, Director for Socio-Economic Agenda Elena Marinina.

The Innosocium National Social Projects Contest is being implemented in partnership with the Art, Science, and Sport Charitable Foundation, the Memory of Generations Foundation, and Russian Copper Company. The contest winners will have the chance to present their ideas at the 2019 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
