Roscongress Foundation’s Social Platform Organized Seminar at MGIMO

Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) hosted a social communications seminar as part of the Innosocium Nationwide Social Project Competition presentation.

Alexey Goryachev, investment banker, Senior Partner at RB Partners and Chair of YPO Moscow Chapter, spoke to the students about the close link between finance and philosophy in a successful business today.

Mr. Goryachev emphasized the relevance of the Innosocium competition and used his own business as a model: it received a powerful impetus for development and enjoyed a new lease on life, when he and his partners laid down the philosophy and worthwhile goals for their project.

«Today start talking goals, not money. Often people go for lesser money and a more fulfilling job, because doing something that doesn’t inspire you and thinking that real life starts after office hours is self-deceit. There’s nothing wrong with making money — any business must be profitable, but money on their own is not an inspiring goal. The world is changing. The companies that focus on being beneficial for the society achieve better results, demonstrate higher efficiency, recruit best staff and spend less on publicity. I believe there’s no other choice, either for you or for me. If we want to be successful today and — more importantly — tomorrow, we need to put our gain on a back-burner and focus on others and their interests,» commented Alexey Goryachev.

The Roscongress Foundation and the Art, Science and Sport charity foundation started the Innosocium nationwide competition in September 2018. It seeks to draw the attention of the younger generation to social work, social issues and means to resolve them. Students are invited to develop their projects in three main categories: active ageing, social inclusion, and regional development.

«We’ve created the Innosocium competition of social projects to involve younger audience in the social life and help them use their managerial qualities. This competition offers students an opportunity to impact the way our society develops. The finalists of the competition will get a chance to present their ideas at Russia’s largest business platforms, as well as grants to put their projects to life. We accept applications before the end of December and we do believe in your ideas!» said Elena Marinina, Deputy CEO, Director for the Socio-Economic Agenda of the Roscongress Foundation.

The finalists of the Innosocium competition will be announced in February 2019 at the Russian Investment Forum. The winners will receive funding for their project, and will have the opportunity to present their ideas at SPIEF 2019 in St. Petersburg.

The deadline to enter is 28 December 2018. Applications may be submitted via https://innosocium.ru.
