INNOSOCIUM Foundation – a new permanent platform to develop an innovative social environment

A ceremony was held at the Main Media Centre in Sochi on 14 February as part of the Russian Investment Forum to mark the establishment of the INNOSOCIUM Foundation for the Promotion of Social Development. The Foundation’s main objectives are to provide practical support for priority areas of social development, create and promote the social agenda at the communication platforms of the Roscongress Foundation, implement socially significant and charitable initiatives, facilitate the development and enhance the effectiveness of NPOs and corporate social responsibility in addition to international cooperation within the sustainable development agenda, and strengthen the positive image of Russia.

The key focuses of INNOSOCIUM are social issues, culture, education, the environment, social communications, and women’s leadership. The foundation’s establishment was preceded by a year of successful work by the Roscongress Foundation’s social platform under the leadership of Roscongress Foundation Deputy CEO and Director of Social Programmes Elena Marinina and a number of projects and partnerships that were carried out, including the launch in September 2018 of the eponymous Innosocium national social projects contest, whose main goal was to draw young people’s attention to current socially significant problems and ways to solve them. One key aspect of the INNOSOCIUM Foundation’s activities is to participate in business programme events organized by the Roscongress Foundation as well as organize sessions using its own platform.

The ceremony was attended by Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, Roscongress Foundation Chairman of the Board and CEO Alexander Stuglev, and Roscongress Foundation Deputy CEO and Director of Social Programmes Elena Marinina. The INNOSOCIUM Foundation for the Promotion of Social Development will be headed by Elena Marinina.

«The focus of the INNOSOCIUM Foundation’s work is very important strategically for the country. There is a lack of corporate partnerships in the social sector. Everyone involved in the process understands the need for a permanent, competent, and professionally oriented platform for organizing such cooperation», Kobyakov said.

«The Foundation has set a very ambitious goal: to become one of the key partners of the government, NGOs, and businesses in implementing the social development strategy and programmes in the country, and at its disposal it has the business, information, and communication capabilities of the Roscongress Foundation based on which the Foundation’s new team needs to create its own pool of competencies and partnerships», Stuglev said.

The INNOSOCIUM Foundation will be financed by the Roscongress Foundation and also raise funds from its business partners. The establishment of the INNOSOCIUM Foundation will ensure coverage of the social agenda through the integration of a wide range of participants at events organized by the Roscongress Foundation.

«Our job is to demonstrate how extensive activities to create an innovative social structure can transform both the environment and its operators. In doing so, we are actually destined to work in the innovative social environment that we create — and the future depends on how we create it», Marinina said.
