Innosocium Contest Introducing New Nomination to Support Young Entrepreneurs

The Innosocium National Social Projects Contest for Students, which is organized based on the initiative of the Innosocium Foundation, the social platform of the Roscongress Foundation, together with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives is introducing a new nomination titled ‘Youth Entrepreneurship’.

The nomination will be open to projects from students from all over Russia that aim to promote and develop youth entrepreneurship, encourage the active involvement of young people in economic activities, and search for technological projects being implemented by young entrepreneurs, including projects that contribute to solving problems arising from the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are looking for technological projects being implemented by young entrepreneurs that help solve urgent problems, in particular those arising from the coronavirus pandemic”, ASI Director General Svetlana Chupsheva said. “The winners in this nomination will receive RUB 500,000 to develop and promote their project. We hope that the competition will help promote and develop youth entrepreneurship in the country and enhance the economic activity of young people in Russia”.

The participants of the Innosocium contest will compete in five categories this year: ‘Youth Entrepreneurship’ (partner – Agency for Strategic Initiatives), ‘Taking Care of Seniors’ (partner – Council for the Development of Social Innovations of the Regions of the Russian Federation under the Federation Council of the Russian Federation), ‘Women's Leadership’ (partner – MARS), ‘Culture: Regional Initiatives’ (partner – cultural platform ART-OKNO, “Art, Science, and Sport” Charitable Foundation), and ‘Territory Development’ (partner – EVRAZ).

Applications will be accepted from students throughout the country until 30 April. An expert council will select the finalists and then a panel of experts will select the winners from among the finalists. The award ceremony will be held for the first time in the format of an online event on 25 May 2020. The winners will receive a cash prize for the implementation of their projects as well as assistance from partner curators. In addition, the winners will be invited to participate in economic forums (SPIEF, EEF, Russian Investment Forum) operated by the Roscongress Foundation as well as the Fourth Forum of Social Innovations.

“This year, we decided to significantly expand the focus and increase the number of nominations, thus boosting chances of winning. We are grateful to our partners who have supported this initiative and quickly joined the process. We invite students from all over the country to participate and wish success to all the contestants,” said Elena Marinina, Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the Innosocium Foundation.
