Innosocium Foundation To Present Programme to Preserve and Develop Russians’ Cultural Heritage at EEF

The Innosocium Foundation, the social platform of the Roscongress Foundation, will hold a Creative Business Forum, business programme sessions, as well as events as part of the ‘The Soul of Russia. The North’ exposition at the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition during the 8th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). All the events aim to consolidate measures to preserve the cultural heritage of Indigenous peoples. The EEF 2023 is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation, while the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District–Yugra is the strategic partner of the ‘The Soul of Russia’ project.

“The event programme of the Roscongress Foundation’s social platform effectively helps to create the relevant initiatives to preserve the cultural heritage of Russia’s Indigenous peoples. As exemplified by the successful growth of creative industries on the scale of the Arctic, we can see that the pillar of the traditional cultural and historical values and the extremely rich creative heritage that we have selected as the basis for development serves as a solid foundation for promoting all aspects of creative entrepreneurship and ensures the growth of human capital in the region,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee.

The pavilion of the ‘The Soul of Russia. The North’ exposition at the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition will show a film about ‘The Soul of Russia. The North’ festival that was previously held as part of Russia’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council in 2021–2023. The pavilion, which will host events that reflect a modern interpretation of the cultural heritage of the Arctic’s Indigenous peoples, was named in honour of the festival. This pavilion will also showcase some of the Innosocium Foundation’s multimedia projects, including an interactive map of the cultural and historical heritage of the Indigenous peoples of the North and a multimedia exhibition of the art of Indigenous peoples.

The Roscongress Foundation’s social platform and the Presidential Grants Fund will continue to engage in productive cooperation. The directors of leading non-profit organizations that are successfully implementing social projects using grants from the Russian president will speak at the discussion platform ‘NGOs at the EEF: Results and Prospects’. They will discuss networking practices at the Forum’s events and their impact on the development of social projects, and will also come up with proposals on formats and ways for leaders of public projects to participate in the partnership programmes of the Presidential Grants Fund and the Innosocium Fund.

Further discussions about the cultural heritage of the Indigenous Peoples of the North will be held as part of the Creative Business Forum programme and sessions of the EEF business programme, which, among other things, will include the sessions ‘Role and Potential of Civil Society in the Development of the Far East’ and ‘Towards a Common Future: What Social and Cultural Business Initiatives Await the Far East?’. The events of the Creative Business Forum, which the EEF will host on 10 September, will be held under the banner ‘Cultural Codes of the Economy: Revealing Identity through Cooperation’ with more than ten sessions focusing on the development of competitiveness based on culture and heritage, the use of human capital, and the rethinking of urbanism through creativity.

The programme will pay particular attention to film production. The Innosocium Foundation actively works to support young talents and plans to hold an educational programme of the Spirit of Fire Academy during the Creative Business Forum for this purpose. Prominent filmmakers will hold lectures on the topics ‘New Cinema of Siberia and the Far East’, ‘Ethno-Cinema: Secrets of Success’, and ‘Cinema Suspense Laboratory: How to Keep the Viewer’s Attention’. There will also be a pitch session for cinematography projects to showcase how actively the regional film industry is developing. The presentation will feature some of the best docufiction projects and feature films that have common motives about the best way to gain insight into the philosophy of unity with nature, the beauty of folk culture, the codes of the traditions of the North, and their new interpretation. The session ‘The Creative Potential of Siberia and Russia’s Far East: Filmmaking Opportunities’ will focus on film startups initiated by entrepreneurs in Siberia and the Far East and production solutions to help regional film companies create new films.

The Spirit of Fire Academy is the strategic partner of the Creative Business Forum.

The 8th Eastern Economic Forum will take place on 10–13 September on the campus of Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok.
