Roscongress Foundation’s Innosocium Foundation Social Platform Launches Programme for Youth, Women, and Entrepreneurs

The Roscongress Foundation’s Innosocium Foundation Social Platform, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) are launching a joint project, the first stage of which will see to the organization of the International Knowledge Sharing Week for youth, women, and entrepreneurs.

A memorandum of understanding with the Roscongress Foundation was signed by Roscongress Foundation CEO Alexander Stuglev and UNIDO Director General Li Yong on 17 December 2018 at the UNIDO headquarters in Vienna. The parties agreed to jointly create and develop trust spaces through the development of world-class communication platforms aimed at economic, technological, industrial, scientific, and technical international cooperation while taking into account ‘Russian Scientific and Technological Development’ national strategy objectives seeking to create a modern management system in science, technology, and innovation, as well as the innovation appeal of research and development.

«It is impossible to develop the country’s scientific and technological potential without learning from the experience of colleagues and specialists worldwide. We are ready to share best practices and are glad that our initiatives are resonating with the global community. Fulfilling the creative potential of Russian youth in science and innovations, especially in the international scientific and technical arena, is a priority development vector and has a tremendous effect on the future development of Russian science as a whole», Advisor to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.

The International Knowledge Sharing Week programme for youth, women, and entrepreneurs was initiated by UNIDO Goodwill Ambassador Veronika Peshkova. It involves the expansion of international relations, the exchange of experience, and joint projects aimed at implementing the UN sustainable development goals together with the countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

«Support projects of this kind are extremely important for us. By working together with UNIDO, we can take the activities of the Innosocium Foundation to a new, international level and realize the full potential of the Roscongress Foundation’s Social Platform, and that includes as a part of the sustainable development goals. The development of scientific and industrial relations with developing countries can affect Russia in a big way. It’s not only about the synergy of actively growing economies but also about the humanitarian aspect, such as better mutual understanding between partners and preparing the ground for promising new projects», Roscongress Foundation Deputy CEO and Innosocium Foundation Director Elena Marinina said.

The programme got underway on 25 September 2019 with a visit from 45 young specialists from innovation faculties from the largest educational group in East India, the JIS Group, and will last until 6 October 2019, during which visitors will have the opportunity to get acquainted with Moscow’s leading universities, technology parks, innovative companies, and business facilities.

«Sustainable ties between Russian and international communities are the main priority and driving force behind the development of strategic partnerships with foreign companies, institutions, and experts and are aimed at developing joint solutions, both within the framework of global problems and for the promotion of projects,» Corporate Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Elena Myakotnikova said.

Also taking place at the Innosocium Foundation site, with the support of the Roscongress Foundation and in partnership with Innopolis University is a contest-meeting with the participation of Veronika Peshkova and Roscongress Foundation Deputy CEO and Innosocium Foundation Director Elena Marinina. As part of the contest, young scientists shall be invited to create a project based on Russian-Indian cooperation and entrepreneurship in the context of a sustainable development economy. The Roscongress Foundation’s Innosocium Foundation Social Platform will provide the winner of the contest with an opportunity to demonstrate the project at the next St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

«There is an excellent opportunity for economic growth while developing international relations, and it is important to take advantage of the capabilities of international organizations and associations to expand contacts», UNIDO Goodwill Ambassador Veronika Peshkova said.

The contest-meeting and all subsequent events are expected to take place at the ‘Boiling Point’ collective work space.

Furthermore, there is a plan to organize a number of events together with the Coordination Council for Youth Affairs in the Sphere of Science and Education under the Presidential Council for Science and Education, including meetings of young Russian scientists with students from other countries, such as Japan, Bahrain, Italy, Kenya, and Cuba among others at the ‘Boiling Point’ collective work space.
